Life & Still Life
The Greenacres Art group has been using the excellent facilities at the community centre for the past seven years.
We hold a full day painting workshop on the first Saturday of each month. We hire a model and paint from life. This full day activity is normally available only in an art college. Artists come to the workshops from a large area as well as local artists. Greenacres is now firmly on the map as a centre of the art community.
We are about to contact the local colleges to invite students to increase their portfolios at our workshops, prior to applying to Art Colleges for their degree courses. I teach, demonstrate and advice new members. I have an honours degree in Arts from Bradford College of Art and Design.
We are an extremely inclusive group. Some of our members are excellent exhibiting, collectable artists. They are always available to share their knowledge and skills with new members. We are shortly to hold a joint exhibition with Oldham Photography Society at Greenacres Community Centre. May 10, 2008 further details will be available on Greenacres Events Calender nearer the date.
