Healthy

The over 50's Get Fit To Keep Fit,eating  healthy and exercising safely, meets every Saturday morning.   The aim of the group is to introduce members of the older generation to gentle exercise and the art of eating  healthly to complement a healthy lifestyle.  There is a fitness instructor for the geting fit part and I am there to provide a healthy light lunch.

As a retired chef I am always keen to get people cooking with fresh ingedients and showing them ways of making traditional dishes healthier.   The lunch menu is basically soup and sandwiches, but I strive to provide soups that are unusual, healthy and use ingedients that are in season.  Ingredients you may have seen in the supermarket, but were unsure about how they tasted, or how to cook them and so you passed them by.

Every week I publish a menu which also shows the recipe I have used that week and it is wonderful to hear the people talking about soups they make and the recipes  that get passed around familys.  I now belive I have converted a number of people to look at what they eat and find healthier alternatives.

Prior to lunch the exercise comprises of a warm up, a routine which targets all the large muscle groups, and a cool down stretch period.   As a proffesional instructor, I can deliver this programme to all ages and abilities and will give you guidance before the exercise.  Come along and join us every Saturday morning, this is a very sociable group and you will be made to feel welcome.

Weekly cost £5.00 for exercise class and lunch.
